ARHS Healthy Opportunities Pilot Program


The ARHS Healthy Opportunities Pilot program will focus on the provision of non-medical services to eligible Medicaid Managed Care enrollees in Bertie, Chowan, and Hertford counties.

The four main areas of focus include:

  • Housing Services
  • Food Services
  • Transportation
  • Interpersonal Violence/Toxic Stress

To be eligible for the Healthy Opportunities Pilot program an individual must have Medicaid AND be a Medicaid Managed Care Member. In addition, individuals must meet program criteria including; having at least one physical or behavioral health condition, have at least one social risk factor, and reside in the pilot region. If you meet program criteria, please contact Member Services on the back of your insurance card.  The Prepaid Health Plan will

assess to see if you meet the necessary criteria and inform you of the next steps. When contacting Member services inform them you are calling to speak with someone about receiving services through the Healthy Opportunities Pilot Program.
